At De Style Design, we believe that classical design is timeless, not outdated. This philosophy guided us as we developed a design concept for a distinguished classical building in Etobicoke, Toronto. Leveraging our architectural expertise, we meticulously crafted a design that harmonizes with the building's exterior while thoughtfully redefining its interior spaces.
For this particular project, the intimate scale of the space and modest ceiling heights called for a design approach that fosters a sense of warmth and comfort. Our goal was to create an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a cozy living room, offering both residents and visitors a welcoming experience as they enter the building.
We presented two design options, each celebrating classical elements in unique ways: one with bold contrasts for a more modern edge, and the other with soft, airy tones for an understated elegance. The carefully selected colors and finishes facilitate a seamless transition from the exterior to the interior, while layered lighting enhances the warmth and balance of the space. Additionally, the furniture was chosen not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its functionality and ergonomic support, particularly for elderly residents, with armrests designed at an optimal height for ease of use.
We also addressed fire rating requirements for the lobby furniture, ensuring both safety and style are seamlessly integrated into our design.
